Body Confidence Boost with “Give Me The Food” by Miss Platnum

This is an artist and video I just had to share with you – she is a great plus-size style inspiration, and most importantly, her song & music video “Give me the food” is to me one of the most body confidence boosting statements out there.

Miss Platnum is a Rumanian artist. In her career she has often been criticised and scrutinized about her weight.  I can imagine her management telling her that if she wants to make it , she will have to drop at least 10-15 kilos – something I absolutely don’t understand. She has an amazing, curvy figure and I do love her clothing style – she is definitely one of my style inspirations.

One day she must have thought – “ENOUGH, I have to speak up about this” – and came up with this amazing song.

Have a look for yourself:

To say it with her words:

Look at my curvaceous curves
Those models can’t compete
I am a woman
No skinny doll

It would be great to hear what you think about this and what has inspired you. So,what do you think about this song and her style? Do you know any other great body confidence songs?

“Yours” Are Going To Ruin Me…

Yours Clothing

I neither really understand nor usually do “Haul” posts – however my last big spree may actually be deserving of one…

In the past I had walked past the brick and mortar “Yours Clothing” shop a few times while I was shopping in Manchester, but I never really paid them much attention. Why? I’m not quite sure – somehow I’d just overlooked them. However during my endless quest for some new plus-size belts I came across their online store and it wasn’t long before I became quite excited…

Every plus-size girl will know the excitement of discovering a new shop, a shop that sells not only all the things we’ve been looking for but especially in the sizes that we are looking for. To top this off, “Yours”  also had a sale on when I stumbled across them, so it was quite difficult to resist. They also seemed to sell exactly what I had been looking for so long and that had been difficult to find, as well as some lovely dresses.

So ultimately my “little” shop consisted of 3 dresses, 3 belts, 2 cardigans, 2 peplum tops, 1 skirt, 1 pair of earrings, 1 necklace, 1 bracelet, 1 handbag and 1 purse… Most of these items will feature in posts coming soon.

Thanks to the great prices this altogether came to only about £150. Through this, “Yours” have immediately made it onto the list of my favourite plus-size stores. However, they might just end up ruining me if they continue to have things like these at those kinds of prices. It is going to be incredibly hard to resist…
